Myōe is built and run by one person, not a company — named for the 13th-century Japanese monk who recorded his own dreams for forty years. This page explains, plainly, what data exists, where it lives, and who can see it.

What's collected

An email address and password, used only to sign you in.
The dreams you write, the dates attached to them, any theme tags you add, and — if you use them — the DreamVoice field, sketches, and voice recordings you choose to submit.
If you use the photo-scan, document-import, or voice-recording features: the image, document, or audio you submit, sent once to be read or transcribed, as described below.

What's not collected

No analytics, no advertising, no tracking of how you use the site beyond the entries you choose to save. Signing in uses Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm you're a real visitor — it processes limited technical signals like IP address and browser information for this purpose. Who can see your dreams

Only you. Entries are tied to your account, and the database is configured so no one else's account can read them — including the person who built and runs this site.

Where it's stored, and who else is involved

Myōe runs on a small number of infrastructure providers, each handling a specific job:

Supabase stores your account and dream data.
Vercel hosts the site itself.
Cloudflare manages the domain and bot protection.
Resend sends sign-in emails and monthly reflections on the site's behalf.
Anthropic reads photos and documents you submit for transcription or import, and helps generate monthly reflections and theme suggestions from your entries.
OpenAI transcribes voice recordings you submit into text.
Sentry receives technical error reports when something breaks — details about what failed and where in the code, never the content of your dreams.

For the AI providers specifically: content you submit for transcription or reflection generation is not used to train their models, and is automatically deleted from their systems shortly after processing (typically within 30 days), unless flagged for abuse review. None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes, and nothing is sold to anyone.

Not a substitute for professional support

Myōe is a personal journaling tool, not a medical, psychological, or therapeutic service. It doesn't diagnose, interpret, or offer guidance on mental health. If you're going through something difficult, please reach out to a qualified professional or a trusted person in your life.

Age requirement

Myōe is intended for adults. It isn't directed at children, and knowingly shouldn't be used by anyone under 16.

Deleting your data

Any entry can be deleted permanently from the journal itself, at any time. To have your entire account and all remaining data deleted, email the address below — this will be done by hand, typically within a few days.

If this policy changes

If anything meaningful changes about how your data is handled, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. There's no mailing list or notification system in place yet, so if this matters to you, it's worth checking back occasionally.
